VOCATIONAL COACHING:
Curricululum based Soft Skills Training with Mentorship
Executive function and self-regulation skills are the mental processes that enable us to plan, focus attention, remember instructions, and juggle multiple tasks successfully.
-Harvard Center on the Developing Child
"Just as an air traffic control system at a busy airport safely manages the arrivals and departures of many aircraft on multiple runways, the brain needs this skill set to filter distractions, prioritize tasks, set and achieve goals, and control impulses".
Students who struggle with executive functioning skills often have difficulty following multi-step directions, organizing their materials, and setting realistic goals.
The SOAR Study Skills curriculum is a research-based intervention using step-by-step programming to teach students to improve their adaptive and organizational skills for school and life.
Organized into a series of lessons, SOAR can be administered in once per week group sessions.
